The Innovation Hub (TIH) is Africa’s first internationally accredited Science Park and has created Gauteng’s first high-tech, networked cluster in a unique business environment. Since its inception in 2000, The Innovation Hub is increasing the contribution that knowledge-intensive businesses make to the growth of the Gauteng economy through the commercialisation of technology, the development of technological capacity, entrepreneurial ability and intellectual capital.

 Strategic Objectives

In support of the Gauteng Province’s Growth and Development Strategy and its strategic intent of creating a Smart Province, ensuring growth in the knowledge economy sectors:

• to support the development and growth of entrepreneurs in high-tech sectors in the Province
• to act as a catalyst in bridging the ‘commercialisation chasm’ to significantly increase the
  local innovative technology development and business application
• to be the centre of gravity of innovation knowledge and practical experience for Provincial knowledge economy initiatives and thereby entrench the TIH brand
• to support the sustainable growth of the provincial economy through the development of a critical mass of knowledge workers in a cluster of innovative businesses.
• to create a Smart Province and grow the high-tech business community in the Global City
