 The aim of the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) is to assist the automotive industry in being globally more competitive through skills development and training, supplier development and supply chain management. Operating within the automotive, high-value added manufacturing sector, the AIDC has had a positive impact on South Africa’s automotive industry.
Strategic Objectives Given its experience since its inception, and in consultation with its stakeholders, the AIDC has set itself a number of specific institutional objectives, as follows: - Increasing the contribution of small enterprises to the economy
- Significantly progressing broad-based black economic empowerment
- Contributing towards building skills, technology and infrastructure platforms from which enterprises can benefit
- Repositioning the economy in high value-added segments of value matrices in knowledge-driven manufacturing and services
