Blue IQ Investment Holdings has identified three strategic thrusts as part of its repositioning for long-term sustainability. These are:

• Corporatisation: Alignment of its current operating model and setting up Blue IQ Investment Holdings as an effective, functioning corporate entity.
• Commercialisation: Focussing on organic growth that include corporatising Blue IQ Investment Holdings and commercialising our projects to strengthen their position as sustainable and commercially viable entities.
• Investment: Enhancing our existing portfolio of projects by crowding in development funding and new investments from the private sector, which in turn will realise both financial and economic value for the province.

OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE
As the Blue IQ projects are at various stages of development and require specialised attention depending on their lifecycle, Blue IQ Investment Holdings has revised its operational approach to the projects. This approach contains three main functions that will guide its institutional arrangements and involvement in the projects, hence:

Project Management Agent – fast-track delivery of infrastructure and institutional arrangements with regard to the development and finalisation of the JIA Industrial Development Zone.

Industry Support Catalyst – we play a facilitation role in realising the potential of industry support initiatives that assist in creating viable mechanisms for business to interact with us more successfully and to catalyse results through the process. Specific emphasis is placed on ensuring the sustainability of the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) which aims to support the automotive industry, as well as the Blue Catalyst portal project, which aims to facilitate interaction between investors, entrepreneurs and experts in the ICT sector.

Asset Manager/ Shareholder –we focus on the commercialisation of projects that have reached maturity to unlock shareholder value and build Blue IQ Investment Holdings’ balance sheet. Projects including Constitution Hill, The Innovation Hub, Blue Catalyst and the Automotive Supplier Park (ASP) are being assisted to build sustainable commercial offerings.
