AMANDA NAIR - CEO
Ms Nair completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984, majoring in
Psychology & Industrial Sociology at the University of Natal and
during 1985 – 1986 a Masters in Town and Regional Planning also
at the University of Natal with Progressive Planning Theory being her
masters dissertation. She also completed a Management Development
Program co-ordinated by the University of Durban-Westville during 1993 as
well as an Executive Leadership Program.
Ms Nair has spent most of her career in government progressing from a junior
built environment professional up the ranks to occupy strategic management and
leadership positions with a stint at the 2010 Local Organising Committee. In a
career spanning more than 20 years, she acknowledges that she has had the
privilege of working on some of this country’s most profiled and significant projects
including the Gautrain and infusing a clear developmental bias into the work that
she has done.
Ms Nair was appointed as the Chief Executive Office of Blue IQ
in March 2009.
